সাহায্য নিয়ন্ত্রিত বায়ুচলাচল, পেশী শিথিলকারী সাধারণ অ্যানেশেসিয়াতে শিরায় পেশী শিথিলকারী; সাহায্য নিয়ন্ত্রিত বায়ুচলাচল প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক: পরীক্ষার ডোজ: ওষুধের সংবেদনশীলতা নির্ধারণের জন্য অ্যানেসথের আগে 20 মিলিগ্রাম দেওয়া যেতে পারে। প্রাথমিকভাবে, IV inj এর মাধ্যমে 80-120 mg, পরবর্তী ডোজ 20-40 mg প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী দেওয়া যেতে পারে। সাধারণ অ্যানেশেসিয়াতে শিরায় পেশী শিথিলকারী; সাহায্য নিয়ন্ত্রিত বায়ুচলাচল শিশু: 1.5 মিগ্রা/কেজি। নবজাতক: 600 mcg/kg। গুরুতর কিডনি বৈকল্য। আয়োডিনের প্রতি অত্যধিক সংবেদনশীলতা। মাইসথেনিয়া গ্রাভিস। গ্যালামাইন ট্রাইথিওডাইড একটি বেনজিলিসোকুইনোলিনিয়াম প্রতিযোগিতামূলক নিউরোমাসকুলার ব্লকার। এটি অস্ত্রোপচারের সময় সাধারণ অ্যানেশেসিয়াতে পেশী শিথিল করতে এবং নিয়ন্ত্রিত বায়ুচলাচলকে সহায়তা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। ওভারডোজ প্রতিরোধ করার জন্য সাবধানে ডোজ টাইট্রেশন এবং ব্লকের মাত্রা পর্যবেক্ষণ করা প্রয়োজন। টাকাইকার্ডিয়া, রক্তচাপ বৃদ্ধি। Lidocaine, procainamide, quinidine, এবং verapamil ব্লক বাড়াতে পারে। ক্লিন্ডামাইসিন পেশী শিথিলকারীদের ক্রিয়াকে দীর্ঘায়িত করতে পারে। পলিমিক্সিন ব্যবহার করলে অ্যাপনিয়া দীর্ঘায়িত হতে পারে। অ্যান্টিকোলিনস্টেরেস বা কর্টিকোস্টেরয়েডের সাথে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী চিকিত্সা গ্যালামিনের ক্রিয়াকে বিরোধিতা করতে পারে।

Mechanism of action
Gallamine triethiodide is a benzylisoquinolinium competitive neuromuscular blocker. It is used to produce muscle relaxation in general anaesthesia during surgical procedures and to aid controlled ventilation.
Dosage
Adult Dose: Intravenous Muscle relaxant in general anaesthesia; Aid controlled ventilation Adult: Test dose: 20 mg may be given before anesth to determine drug sensitivity. Initially, 80-120 mg via IV inj, further doses of 20-40 mg may be given as required. Child Dose: Intravenous Muscle relaxant in general anaesthesia; Aid controlled ventilation Child: 1.5 mg/kg. Neonates: 600 mcg/kg.
Side effects
Tachycardia, increased BP.
Precautions & warnings
Careful dose titration and monitoring of the degree of block are required to prevent overdosage.
Contraindications
Severe renal impairment. Hypersensitivity to iodine. Mysasthenia gravis.
Drug interactions
Lidocaine, procainamide, quinidine, and verapamil may enhance the block. Clindamycin can prolong the action of muscle relaxants. Apnoea may be prolonged when used with polymyxins. Anticholinesterases or long-term treatment with corticosteroids may antagonise the action of gallamine.
