Description

Ketoprofen (Vet) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing pain, inflammation, and fever in animals.Ketoprofen (Vet) achieves these effects by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals that play a key role in these processes. Ketoprofen (Vet) works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are involved in pain, inflammation, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, Ketoprofen (Vet) provides pain relief, reduces inflammation, and lowers body temperature.

Indications

Ketoprofen (Vet) use as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory .Ketoprofen (Vet) treat mild to severe inflammation and pain.

Mechanism of action

Ketoprofen reduces pain and inflammation by preventing prostaglandin synthesis, just like other NSAIDs do. COX, or cyclo-oxygenase, is the enzyme that NSAIDs suppress. Both COX-1 and COX-2 are isoforms of the COX enzyme. In order to maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract, renal function, platelet function, and other regular physiological processes, prostaglandin synthesis is predominantly carried out by COX-1. Prostaglandins, which are crucial mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever, are synthesized by COX-2, an induced protein. However, it is recognized that in some circumstances, the effects of COX-1 and COX-2 might overlap, and that COX-2 activity is crucial for a number of biological consequences. As an inhibitor of COX-1 and COX-2, ketoprofen is nonselective. Its capacity to inhibit lipoxygenase is marginally supported.
