Description
Naloxone nasal prep is a opioid antagonist. It is used in the treatment of opioid toxicity. It counters and blocks the unwanted effects of opioid overdose. Naloxone nasal prep is an opioid antagonist. Opioid medicines are strong painkillers, which in high doses can cause life-threatening side effects such as difficulty in breathing. Naloxone nasal prep works by blocking the effects of opioids leading to reversal of these side effects.

Dosage
Adult Dose: Opioid Overdose Indicated for emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdose, as manifested by respiratory and/or CNS depression Initial dosing: 1 spray delivered by intranasal administration; delivers 4 mg of naloxone HCl Child Dose: Opioid Overdose Indicated for emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdose, as manifested by respiratory and/or CNS depression Initial dosing: 1 spray delivered by intranasal administration; delivers 4 mg of naloxone HCl
Administration
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a marked dropper and take it as directed. Naloxone nasal prep may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Naloxone nasal prep might make you feel dizzy. If this happens, avoid driving or operating on machinery. Inform the doctor if you are taking any pain killers, sleeping pills (sedatives), narcotic painkillers, or other medicines Avoid consuming alcohol while taking the medicine as it can affect the working of the medicine.
