Albendazole (Vet)

Albendazole (Vet) is a potent, broad-spectrum veterinary benzimidazole anthelmintic formulation designed for livestock (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats) and poultry. It exerts vermicidal, ovicidal, and larvicidal actions against gastrointestinal roundworms, tapeworms, lungworms, and mature liver flukes (Fasciola spp.).

Indicated for the control and treatment of gastrointestinal nematodes, lungworms, tapeworms, and adult liver flukes in cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, and poultry.

Benzimidazole Derivative

Albendazole (Vet) inhibits parasite tubulin polymerization by binding to beta-tubulin, blocking energy pathways and glucose absorption in helminthes, leading to parasite starvation and death.

Inhibits parasite tubulin polymerization and impairs glucose uptake, resulting in energy depletion and elimination of larvae, eggs, and adult worms.

Gastrointestinal worms & lungworms: Cattle/Buffalo: 7.5 mg/kg body weight; Sheep/Goats: 5-7.5 mg/kg body weight. Liver Fluke: Cattle/Buffalo: 10-15 mg/kg body weight; Sheep/Goats: 7.5-10 mg/kg body weight.

For oral administration only. Can be given via drenching or mixed with feed/water.

Administer the missed dose as soon as possible. Do not double the dose.

Well tolerated at therapeutic doses. Overdosage may cause transient anorexia, diarrhea, or mild lethargy.

Do not administer during early pregnancy (first trimester). Observe mandatory meat and milk withdrawal periods before human consumption.

Contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to benzimidazoles and during the first month of pregnancy.

Avoid concomitant administration with other benzimidazole anthelmintics.

Can be administered with feed or water without affecting absorption.

Avoid use during the first trimester of pregnancy due to potential teratogenic risks.

Pregnancy Category: Veterinary Caution — always consult a doctor before taking during pregnancy.

Observe meat (14-28 days) and milk (3-7 days) withdrawal periods during lactation.

Dose carefully based on exact body weight in young animals.

Standard veterinary dosing applies unless severe hepatic impairment is present.

Use with caution in animals with severe liver disease.

Overdose may cause gastrointestinal signs and lethargy. Treat symptomatically.

Store below 30°C in a dry place protected from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
