Description
Sodium Cromoglycate (Cromoglicic acid) is used to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye. It helps to provides relief from red, itchy and watery eyes. Sodium Cromoglycate (Cromoglicic acid) is for external use only. Follow the instructions given by your doctor and use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit. You should gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid and wipe off extra liquid. Always wash your hands and do not touch the end of the dropper. This could infect your eye. Make sure you remove contact lenses if you wear them and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back. Never use a bottle if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. You must consult with your doctor if symptoms does not get improved within 2 days or medicine is required for a longer period. It is generally safe to use, but you might experience Stinging sensation after using the medicine. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Do not use this medicine, if you have an eye problem (glaucoma) and untreated eye infection. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. This medicine is usually not safe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding, ask from the doctor if required. Sodium Cromoglycate (Cromoglicic acid) is a mast cell stabilizer. It works on certain cells in the body (mast cells) to prevent them from releasing substances that cause allergic symptoms such as red, itchy and watery eyes.

Asthma, Asthma propylaxis
Mechanism of action
Sodium Cromoglycate inhibits degranulation of mast cells and therefore suppresses the release of histamine, leukotrienes and slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis.
Dosage
Adult Dose: Adults: Inhalation Asthma prophylaxis As dry powd/ nebulising soln: 20 mg 4 times/day As aerosol:10 mg 4 times/day, up to 6-8 times/day if needed, reduced to 5 mg 4 times/day once asthma has stabilised. Additional doses may be taken before exercise.
Administration
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

[UNSAFE] Sodium Cromoglycate (Cromoglicic acid) may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use. Do not drive until your vision is clear. . Your doctor has prescribed Sodium Cromoglycate (Cromoglicic acid) to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye. It treats long-term allergies such as perinneal (throughout the year) or seasonal eye allergies. Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer. Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
