Betamethasone 0.05% + Clotrimazole 1% Topical is a combination medicine used to treat various types of skin infections, usually fungal infections. It minimizes symptoms of inflammation such as redness, swelling, and itching and acts against the infection-causing microorganisms.
Indications
- Inflammatory dermal infections
- Tinea pedis
- Tinea cruris
- Tinea corporis
Dosage
Adults: Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily.
- Tinea corporis and tinea cruris: Up to 2 weeks
- Tinea pedis: Up to 4 weeks
- Maximum weekly dose: 45 g
Children (under 17 years): Safety and efficacy have not been established.
Side effects
- Application site burning, itching, redness
- Thinning of skin
- Skin peeling
- Paresthesia (1.9%)
- Dry skin (1.6%)
- Stinging (<1%)
- Rash, edema, secondary infection (<1%)
Precautions & warnings
- For use on skin only; avoid eyes, mouth, and vagina
- Do not use occlusive dressings unless directed by a doctor
- If severe irritation or allergy occurs, discontinue use
- Do not use for longer than 4 weeks without medical advice
- Inform your doctor if no improvement after 2 weeks
