Azelastine + Fluticasone Propionate Nasal prep is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. Azelastine + Fluticasone Propionate Nasal prep should be used as you have been advised by your doctor. Do not use it more often or for longer than recommended. Normally you should blow your nose gently before using it, keep one nostril closed while applying the medicine into the other and then sniff hard to make sure it reaches deep into the nose. Then repeat for the other nostril. It provides relief very quickly and can last for several hours. If you use this medicine too often or for too long, it may worsen your symptoms rather than improve them. The most common side effects are taste change, nosebleeds, and headaches. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before you start taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Azelastine + Fluticasone Propionate Nasal prep is a combination of two medicines: Fluticasone Propionate and Azelastine, which relieves sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies (allergic rhinitis). Fluticasone Propionate is a steroid which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) and irritation in the nose. Azelastine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Azelastine: Phthalazinones derivative; elicits histamine H1-receptor antagonist activity; major metabolite (desmethylazelastine) also exhibits histamine H1-receptor antagonist activity Fluticasone: Corticosteroid possessing anti-inflammatory activity; exact mechanism of action unknown, but shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory effect on multiple cells (eg, neutrophils, eosinophils, macrophages, mast cells, lymphocytes) and mediators (eg, histamine, leukotrienes, cytokines and eicosanoids)

Adult Dose: Nasal Spray Seasonal allergic rhinitis The recommended dosage is 1 spray each nostril twice daily. Child Dose: Nasal Spray Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis 6 years: 1 each nostril twice daily.

Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril. Direct the spray towards the sides of your nostril, away from the cartilage dividing the two sides of your nose. As you spray, breath gently and keep the head upright. Repeat the same process for the other nostrils.
