Dr. Farzana Islam

Dr. Farzana Islam completed her MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 1990, followed by Diploma in Child Health from the University of Dhaka and an MCPS in Paediatrics from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) in 2003. She has obtained her MSc in Child & Adolescent Mental Health in 2009 from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN), King’s College, London, UK. Dr. Farzana Islam is specialized in Child and Adolescent Mental Health with 19 years of clinical experience in Child Development and Neurology. She is an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a TA (Transactional Analysis) practitioner under training and supervision since 2006. She is an advanced level trainee of Psychotherapy in Certification in Transactional Analysis (CTA) and EMDR. She has obtained a Diploma in Counselling in TA in 2011. Dr. Farzana is running specialized clinics with Child Psychologist and Child Development Therapist in a multidisciplinary setup at CDC- Neuro Developmental Assessment, Psychological Assessment, Systematic Therapeutic Intervention for Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disability, Speech, Language and Communication clinic, Behavior Modification and Positive Parenting Programs with schools/ institutions and counselling and Psycho-therapy clinics for children, adolescents and their parents. She has several publications on Child and Adolescent Mental Health related topics in peerreviewed journals.
