He is currently acting as Professor of Ophthalmology & Head of the Department of Cataract, National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital, Dhaka which is Apex Institute of the country. He is also the Executive Director & Consultant Ophthalmologist of Bangladesh Eye Hospital Mirpur Limited, Director Deen Mohammad Eye Hospital and Research Center Subhanbagh Dhanmondi, Dhaka and Director of Ideal Eye Care Center Shyamoly, Dhaka. He is a Phaco, Cornea, Anterior Segment and Glaucoma Surgeon. He has completed more than 1 lakhs Phaco (Cataract) Surgery and many Corneal Transplantation Surgeries.

He comes from a noble family from Pabna and now the whole family lives in Mirpur, Dhaka. He completed his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College. He has done Master’s of Ophthalmology (MS) degree from the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital under Dhaka University and The Master’s of Public Health (MPH) from the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) under Dhaka University..

Dr. Rasul has completed his fellowship on Cornea and Anterior Segment from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) New Delhi, India. He trained from different Institute of USA and UK. He also trained from Singapore.

He joined NIOH (National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital) in 1991 as BCS (Health Cadre) Officer. After that, he was promoted to Professor of Ophthalmology.

He attended many international seminars in different countries. He is a life member of BMA, OSB, BAO, BUS, BCOS, BSCRS, and BCRS. He has a keen interest in Phaco surgeries, glaucoma diagnosis and management, LASER procedure, Cornea, and Anterior Segment. Now he is the Professor of NIOH and a senior consultant at Bangladesh Eye Hospital Mirpur Limited, Dhaka. He is dealing with the patient in the evening from 6 pm to 9 pm.
