Arq Dashmool is a classical Unani and Ayurvedic formulation made from ten medicinal roots known as 'Dashmool'. It is prepared according to the Bangladesh National Unani Formulary (BNUF) standards.
The ten ingredients of Dashmool are: Bilva (Aegle marmelos), Agnimantha (Premna integrifolia), Shyonaka (Oroxylum indicum), Patala (Stereospermum suaveolens), Kashmari (Gmelina arborea), Bruhati (Solanum indicum), Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum), Shalaparni (Desmodium gangeticum), Prushniparni (Uraria picta), and Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris).
This formulation is used for general weakness, postpartum fever, malnutrition, rheumatism, fever, dyspepsia, anorexia, flatulence, and inflammation.

Pharmacology
Arq Dashmool is a classical Unani and Ayurvedic formulation made from ten medicinal roots known as 'Dashmool'. The ten herbs are: Bilva (Aegle marmelos), Agnimantha (Premna integrifolia), Shyonaka (Oroxylum indicum), Patala (Stereospermum suaveolens), Kashmari (Gmelina arborea), Bruhati (Solanum indicum), Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum), Shalaparni (Desmodium gangeticum), Prushniparni (Uraria picta), and Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris).
Each of these herbs has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, digestive, and antipyretic properties. Shalaparni (Desmodium gangeticum) root is specifically anti-inflammatory, analgesic, cardiotonic, expectorant, and antidiarrheal.
Mechanism of action
The ten herbal ingredients of Arq Dashmool help reduce cellular inflammation and facilitate tissue repair. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of each herb help relieve arthritis pain, fever, and muscle stiffness. It improves digestion, stimulates appetite, and relieves gas and dyspepsia. Shalaparni and other ingredients help boost immunity and energy levels.
Dosage
Adult: 2-3 teaspoonful (approx. 10-15 ml) 1-2 times daily after meals OR 2-4 teaspoonful 2-3 times daily.
With milk: 10-40 ml with milk twice daily.
Dosage should be determined as per physician's advice.
Administration
Shake the bottle well before use. Take the prescribed dose after meals or mix with milk. Close the bottle tightly after use.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Side effects
No significant side effects at recommended dosage. Overdose may cause mild stomach discomfort.
