Pharmacology

Brahmi (Bacopa monniera) contains alkaloids brahmine, plant saponins, bacoside A & B, monniem, betulic acid, β-sitosterol and stigmastanol. It is a potent nerve tonic, effective in anxiety neurosis with adaptogenic effect. Shatomuli (Asparagus racemosus) yields shatavarin I-IV, improving memory, intelligence and physical strength. Pipul (Piper longum) is tonic, digestive, appetizer and anthelmintic. Boch (Acorus calamus) contains asarone, a mild sedative and potent tranquillizer. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is tonic, adaptogenic, sedative and bacteriostatic.

Mechanism of action

Brahmi Rasayan's ingredients have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that protect the brain from oxidative stress and inflammation. They boost neurotransmitter activity, synaptic transmission, and brain cell proliferation, resulting in better memory, learning, and cognitive ability.

Dosage

Adults: 2-3 teaspoonfuls (10-15 ml) 2-3 times daily after meals.

Children: 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) 2-3 times daily after meals.
