Description
Calcium [Algae source] is the combination of Ocean-based Algae source Calcium. This Calcium is extracted from Algas Calcareas, a red Algae found on the shores of South America. Algae source Calcium ensures better absorption than Coral source Calcium or other Calcium Carbonate due to its fibrous chemical structure. • • 75% of Calcium from Algae source is absorbed in the intestine. • In a USP dissolution test (simulating stomach condition), 97% of Calcium from Algae source goes into solution. Each chewable tablet contains: • • Calcium Carbonate (Algae source) 250 mg 1 tablet once or twice daily, or as directed by the physician. Major interaction: • • Intravenous Ceftriaxone + Calcium can cause life-threatening damage to the lungs & kidneys. • Calcium should not be given intravenously within 48 hours of IV ceftriaxone. Minor interaction: • • Calcium reduces absorption of tetracycline & fluoride preparations – allow at least 3 hours gap. • Thiazide diuretics reduce renal excretion of Calcium. • Certain foods (spinach, cereals, milk, and derivatives) may reduce intestinal Calcium uptake. • • Keep out of reach of children. • Store in a dry place, below 25°C, protected from light.
