Description

Carica papaya, belonging to the plant family Caricaceae, is an economically important fruit crop worldwide. Many scientific works have been carried out to evaluate the benefit of different parts of the papaya plant including fruits, seeds, leaves, rind, shoots, roots, or latex. The leaf is considered non-toxic as its lethal dose is >15 g/kg body weight.

Herbal Supplement (Papaya Leaf Extract)

Pharmacology

Carica Papaya Leaf Extract is a natural supplement that helps increase platelet count. In natural medicine, papaya leaf extract is a popular home remedy for dengue patients to boost blood platelets. Recent in vitro studies have shown that papaya leaf extract significantly inhibits hemolysis, probably due to its membrane-stabilizing potency.

Mechanism of action

Carica Papaya Leaf Extract stimulates megakaryocyte production in the bone marrow and stabilizes platelet membranes to increase platelet count. Its antioxidant components protect cells from oxidative stress and strengthen the immune system.
