Pharmacology

Vitamin A plays an essential role in the function of retina and is essential for growth and differentiation of epithelial tissue. Vitamin D is supplemented for prevention and cure of nutritional and metabolic rickets and for treatment of hypoparathyroidism. Vitamin E is an antioxidant which preserves essential cellular constituents. Vitamin E plays a role in protecting red blood cells against hemolysis; has protective effects against free radicals on polyunsaturated fatty acids found in cell membranes; plays a role in preventing oxidation of vitamin A and C.

Mechanism of action

Vitamin A regulates retinal function and tissue growth; Vitamin D maintains calcium absorption and bone health; Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant protecting cells from damage.

Dosage

Adult Dose: 1-2 capsules 3 times daily with meals.

Pediatric Dose (over 6 years): 1-2 capsules 3 times daily with meals.

Administration

Take 1-2 capsules 3 times daily with meals.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Cod Liver Oil, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose.
