Description

Eperisone Hydrochloride is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant used for relief of muscle stiffness tension and spasms. Dose: 50 mg three times daily after meals.

Pharmacology

Eperisone works on centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm without reduction in strength.

Mechanism of action

Eperisone acts on the central nervous system to relieve muscle stiffness and spasm improving muscle pain and movement.

Dosage

50 mg three times daily (after each meal). Dosage should be adjusted depending on patient age and severity.

Administration

Oral tablet. Take with or after food.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose skip the missed dose.

Side effects

Sleepiness fatigue muscle weakness headache dry mouth upset stomach excessive relaxation stomachache nausea.

Precautions & warnings

Take with or after food. May cause dizziness or sleepiness. Avoid alcohol.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Eperisone Hydrochloride.

Drug interactions

Avoid concomitant use with tolperisone HCl and methocarbamol.

Food interactions

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol.

Use in pregnancy

May be unsafe during pregnancy.
