Description

Fennel is a well-balanced Ayurvedic preparation which is effective in various urinary disorders. Fennel provides antiseptic action and soothes the inflamed urinary mucosa. It is used in burning micturition and painful urination and for the prevention and treatment of urolithiasis.

Each 5 ml of Fennel contains fresh extracts of: Mouri bij (Foeniculum vulgare seed) 100 mg, Mouri mul (Foeniculum vulgare root) 100 mg, Gohkshura (Tribulus terrestris) 100 mg, Kasni mul (Cichorium endivia root) 100 mg, Khorbuj bij (Cucumis melo) 100 mg, Khirni bij (Cucumis sativus) 100 mg, Kasni bij (Cichorium endivia seed) 100 mg.

Pharmacology

Mouri (Foeniculum vulgare): Contains Trans-anethole (80-90%), Fenchone (1-10%), Estragole (3-10%), and volatile oil used as diuretic, spasmolytic.

Gohkshura (Tribulus terrestris): Contains saponins, flavone glycosides, alkaloid, fixed oil, potassium nitrate, essential oil and resin used in cooling, painful micturition, diuretic, antispasmotic.

Kasni (Cichorium endivia): Contains sesquiterpene lactones, chicoric acid, chlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid and dicaffeoyl tartaric acid used as cooling agent and diuretic.

Mechanism of action

Fennel provides antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action to soothe urinary mucosa and acts as a diuretic.

Dosage

Adult Dose:

  • 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) 2-3 times daily.

Child Dose:

  • 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) 2-3 times daily.
Administration

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. May be taken with or without food.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible; however, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose.
