How it works: Glycerol is an osmotic dehydrating agent that possesses hygroscopic and lubricating properties. It causes plasma osmolality leading to the movement of water into the plasma from the extravascular spaces via osmosis. Liquid sugar coats the throat to soothe cough.
Important Information: Adults: 10 ml 3-4 times daily. Children 1-5 years: 5 ml. Children 3 months-1 year: 2.5-5 ml. Diabetics should take note of carbohydrate content.

Pharmacology
Glycerol is an osmotic dehydrating agent that possesses hygroscopic and lubricating properties. It causes plasma osmolality leading to the movement of water into the plasma from the extravascular spaces via osmosis. Liquid sugar coats the throat to soothe cough and helps relieve dry throat.
Mechanism of action
Glycerine provides moisture to the throat mucous membrane and liquid sugar coats the throat to soothe cough.
Dosage
Adults and Children over 5 years:
- 10 ml (2 spoonful) 3-4 times daily
Children 1-5 years:
- 5 ml (1 spoonful) 3-4 times daily
Children 3 months - under 1 year:
- 2.5-5 ml (half to 1 spoonful) 3-4 times daily
Children under 3 months: Not recommended

Administration
Oral syrup. Can be taken with or without food. Take 3-4 times daily as required.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular schedule.
