Description
Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks gastric acid production. Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that interferes with bacterial protein synthesis. This combination is effective in eradicating H. pylori bacteria.

Pharmacology
Lansoprazole reduces acid production to create a favorable environment for H. pylori eradication. Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, and clarithromycin interferes with bacterial protein synthesis.
Mechanism of action
Reduces stomach acid and inhibits bacterial cell wall and protein synthesis to eradicate H. pylori.
Dosage
Adult Dose:
- 1 strip (containing all three drugs) twice daily
- For 7-14 days as per physician's advice
Geriatric: Use with caution (may have asymptomatic renal and hepatic dysfunction)
Administration
- Take with or without food as advised by your doctor
- Take regularly at a fixed time
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next dose.

Precautions & warnings
- Caution in patients with penicillin allergy history (serious anaphylactoid reactions may occur)
- Clarithromycin should not be used in pregnancy unless no alternative therapy is appropriate
- Monitor liver and kidney function
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of this therapy
Drug interactions
- Lansoprazole is metabolized through the CYP450 system
- Clarithromycin may increase serum theophylline concentrations
- Interactions with carbamazepine, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, etc. have been reported with erythromycin/clarithromycin
