এলার্জি অবস্থা খাবার গ্রহণ করা উচিত। খাওয়ার সময় বা কিছুক্ষণ পরে নিন। মৌখিক অ্যালার্জির অবস্থা প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক: 100-300 মিগ্রা/দিন। মৌখিক অ্যালার্জির অবস্থা শিশু: <2 বছর: 50-100 মিলিগ্রাম/দিন; 2-5 বছর: 50-150 মিলিগ্রাম/দিন; 5-10 বছর: 100-200 মিলিগ্রাম/দিন; >10 বছর: 100-300 মিলিগ্রাম/দিন। অকাল শিশু এবং নবজাতক। তীব্র হাঁপানির আক্রমণ। মেবিহাইড্রোলিন হল একটি ইথিলেনেডিয়ামাইন ডেরিভেটিভ অ্যান্টিহিস্টামাইন যার অ্যান্টিমাসকারিনিক এবং সেডেটিভ বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে। বন্ধ-কোণ গ্লুকোমা; প্রস্রাব ধরে রাখা, প্রোস্ট্যাটিক হাইপারপ্লাসিয়া বা পাইলোরোডুওডেনাল বাধা; মৃগীরোগ বৃদ্ধ। গর্ভাবস্থা। যন্ত্রপাতি ড্রাইভ বা কাজ করার ক্ষমতা দুর্বল করা হতে পারে। সিএনএস বিষণ্নতা; প্যারাডক্সিক্যাল উদ্দীপনা (উচ্চ মাত্রা, শিশু বা বয়স্ক); মাথাব্যথা, সাইকোমোটর দুর্বলতা; শুষ্ক মুখ, ঘন শ্বাস নালীর নিঃসরণ, ঝাপসা দৃষ্টি; প্রস্রাবের অসুবিধা বা ধরে রাখা, কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য, গ্যাস্ট্রিক রিফ্লাক্স বৃদ্ধি; বমি বমি ভাব, বমি, ডায়রিয়া, এপিগ্যাস্ট্রিক ব্যথা। কদাচিৎ, রক্তের ব্যাধি। খিঁচুনি, ঘাম, মায়ালজিয়া, প্যারেস্থেসিয়াস, এক্সট্রাপিরামিডাল প্রভাব, কাঁপুনি, ঘুমের ব্যাঘাত, বিষণ্নতা, বিভ্রান্তি, টিনিটাস, হাইপোটেনশন, চুল পড়া। সম্ভাব্য মারাত্মক: অ্যানাফিল্যাক্সিস। অ্যালকোহল বা অন্যান্য সিএনএস ডিপ্রেসেন্টের সাথে বর্ধিত অবসাদ। MAOIs, atropine, TCAs এর সাথে অ্যাডিটিভ অ্যান্টিমাসকারিনিক প্রভাব। অটোটক্সিক এজেন্ট যেমন অ্যামিনোগ্লাইকোসাইড অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক দ্বারা সৃষ্ট সতর্কতা লক্ষণগুলিকে মাস্ক করতে পারে।

Mechanism of action
Mebhydrolin is an ethylenediamine derivative antihistamine with antimuscarinic and sedative properties.
Dosage
Adult Dose: Oral Allergic conditions Adult: 100-300 mg/day. Child Dose: Oral Allergic conditions Child: 10 yr: 100-300 mg/day.
Administration
Should be taken with food. Take during or shortly after meals.
Side effects
CNS depression; paradoxical stimulation (high doses, children or elderly); headache, psychomotor impairment; dry mouth, thickened respiratory tract secretions, blurred vision; urinary difficulty or retention, constipation, increased gastric reflux; nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, epigastric pain. Rarely, blood disorders. Convulsions, sweating, myalgia, paraesthesias, extrapyramidal effects, tremor, sleep disturbances, depression, confusion, tinnitus, hypotension, hair loss. Potentially Fatal: Anaphylaxis.
Precautions & warnings
Closed-angle glaucoma; urinary retention, prostatic hyperplasia or pyloroduodenal obstruction; epilepsy. Elderly. Pregnancy. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
Contraindications
Premature infants and neonates. Acute asthmatic attack.
Drug interactions
Enhanced sedation with alcohol or other CNS depressants. Additive antimuscarinic effects with MAOIs, atropine, TCAs. May mask warning symptoms caused by ototoxic agents e.g. aminoglycoside antibiotics.
