Description
Adrenochrome Monosemicarbazone is a haemostatic with a rapid onset of action. It contains a water soluble form of adrenochrome monosemicarbazone, a stable derivative of adrenochrome. Adrenochrome is an oxidation product of adrenaline; it reduces normal and pathologic bleeding time by decreasing capillary permeability. It produces capillary haemostatis without exerting any adrenergic actions on respiration or cardiovascular system.

Pharmacology
Adrenochrome Monosemicarbazone reduces normal and pathologic bleeding time by decreasing capillary permeability. It produces capillary haemostatis without exerting any adrenergic actions on respiration or cardiovascular system.
Mechanism of action
Controls bleeding by reducing capillary permeability.
Dosage
Oral Dose:
- Capillary bleeding prevention and treatment: 4-12 tablets daily divided over the day, preferably 1 hour before meals
- Before surgery: 1.5-5 mg on the preceding evening (oral or injection)
- Additional injection about 30 minutes before surgical intervention
Injection: Intramuscular or subcutaneous; intravenous in emergency cases
Administration
- Tablets: Take 1 hour before meals
- Injection: Administered by doctor or nurse IM/SC/IV
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next dose; do not double the dose.

Precautions & warnings
- In premature babies, infants and young children, dosage of 5 mg/ml injection should not exceed 0.3 ml (due to diprophylline content)
