Description
Multivitamins are a combination of many different vitamins that are normally found in foods and other natural sources. Multivitamins are used to provide vitamins that are not taken in through the diet and to treat vitamin deficiencies caused by illness, pregnancy, poor nutrition, digestive disorders, and many other conditions.

Pharmacology
Vitamin A is essential for retinal function and epithelial tissue growth. B-complex vitamins play a role in coenzyme A synthesis and are necessary for lipid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, tissue respiration and glycogenolysis. Vitamin B12 is required for normal erythropoiesis, nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis, cell reproduction and normal growth. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that preserves cellular constituents. Vitamin C is necessary for collagen formation and tissue repair. Vitamin D3 is necessary for calcium and phosphate homeostasis and bone mineralisation.
Mechanism of action
Prevents vitamin deficiencies and ensures normal growth and development in children.
Dosage
Pediatric Dose (Liquid):
- Below 1 year: 0.6 ml (approx 9-10 drops) once daily
- 1 year and above: 1.0 ml (approx 23-25 drops) once daily
Administration
- Use dropper for accurate dosing
- Give at the same time each day
- May be given directly or mixed with food
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next dose; do not double the dose.

- Excessive Vitamin A and D may cause hypervitaminosis
- Allowance must be made for vitamins from other sources
