Description
Phenylephrine is a decongestant (α-adrenergic agonist) that constricts blood vessels and causes pupillary dilation. Tropicamide is an anticholinergic that relaxes eye muscles and dilates the pupil. This combination allows proper examination of the inside of the eye.

Pharmacology
Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels and causes pupillary dilation. Tropicamide is an anticholinergic that relaxes eye muscles (cycloplegia) and dilates the pupil (mydriasis). This combination allows proper examination of the inside of the eye.

Dosage
Adult Dose (Ophthalmic):
- Eye examination: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s)
- Applied by a doctor
Administration
- For external use only
- Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface (to prevent contamination)
- Hold dropper close to the eye without touching it
- Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid
- Wipe off extra liquid
