At a glance
Pidotimod is an immunostimulant that boosts the immune system in immunodeficiency conditions predisposing individuals to frequent infections, especially respiratory tract infections. It is indicated for recurrent upper and lower respiratory tract infections in children and adults, acute respiratory tract infections, asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, pneumonia, and immunological disorders.
Description
Pidotimod reinforces and stimulates both humoral immunity and T-lymphocyte-mediated cellular immunity. It stimulates macrophage migration, essential for cellular immune response, facilitating phagocytosis and elimination of infectious germs. It has prophylactic and protective action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative germs through its immunostimulant effect.
