Polytar is a keratolytic agent that removes dead skin cells. It has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It helps reduce dandruff, flaking, and itching of the scalp and skin.
Mechanism of action
Removes dead skin cells through keratolysis and provides antibacterial effects.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Scalp psoriasis and seborrhea: Apply to wet hair/scalp, lather for several minutes, rinse thoroughly, and repeat
- Application frequency depends on severity (two times/week to daily)

Missed dose
If you miss an application, apply it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next application; do not double the dose.

- Long-term use may cause hair follicle problems (tar acne)

- May increase sensitivity to sun; wash off completely before sun exposure
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning booths, and sunlamps for at least 24 hours after use
