Description
Povidone-iodine is an iodophore with powerful broad-spectrum germicidal activity against a wide range of bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, and spores. It oxidizes cell constituents and iodinates proteins, inactivating them and causing microbial death.

Pharmacology
Povidone-iodine is an iodophore that slowly releases elemental iodine, providing prolonged germicidal activity. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. It oxidizes microbial cell constituents and iodinates proteins, inactivating them.
Mechanism of action
Prevents infection by killing harmful microorganisms.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Ophthalmic):
- 1 drop 4 times daily or as required, instilled into the conjunctival sac

Missed dose
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next application; do not double the dose.
