Indications
Prevents chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting; at low dose, for diarrhoea-predominant IBS (in men).
Pharmacological class
Selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist
Mechanism of action
Blocks 5-HT3 (serotonin) receptors in the gut and brain, preventing vomiting signals.
Dosage
For chemo-induced vomiting: 0.3 mg injection or 0.1 mg orally once daily (as directed).
Administration
Oral or injection; given before chemotherapy.

Follow the physician's schedule; seek advice if missed.
Drug interactions
QT-affecting drugs and some serotonergic medicines.
Food interactions
Not significant.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the ingredient.
