At a glance

Salmeterol + Fluticasone is a combination inhaler used for the regular treatment of asthma and COPD. Salmeterol acts as a bronchodilator and fluticasone as a corticosteroid to reduce inflammation.

Description

Salmeterol + Fluticasone is a combination of a long-acting β2-agonist (salmeterol) and an inhaled corticosteroid (fluticasone). Salmeterol relaxes bronchial smooth muscles; fluticasone provides potent glucocorticoid anti-inflammatory action in the lungs, reducing asthma symptoms and exacerbations.

Indications
  • Regular asthma treatment (where combination therapy is appropriate)
  • COPD maintenance
