At a glance
Sodium Alginate + Magnesium Alginate is used for gastric reflux, heartburn, reflux-associated flatulence, and heartburn of pregnancy. It reacts with gastric acid to form an alginate raft that impedes gastroesophageal reflux.
Description
Sodium Alginate + Magnesium Alginate reacts rapidly with gastric acid to form a raft of alginic acid gel with a near-neutral pH that floats on stomach contents, quickly and effectively impeding gastroesophageal reflux for up to 4 hours. In severe cases, the raft itself may reflux into the esophagus and exert a demulcent effect.
