Description
Sodium Cromoglycate 4% is a mast cell stabilizer that inhibits mast cell degranulation, suppressing the release of histamine, leukotrienes, and slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis. It reduces the severity of allergic symptoms and acts prophylactically.

Pharmacology
Sodium Cromoglycate stabilizes mast cell membranes, preventing the release of allergy mediators after antigen-antibody reaction. It helps relieve allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and watery eyes.
Mechanism of action
Prevents release of allergy mediators by inhibiting mast cell degranulation.
Dosage
Adult (Eyes):
- 2 drops of 4% solution 4-6 times daily
Adult (Nose):
- 1 drop into each nostril 2-3 times daily
Administration
- For ophthalmic and nasal use only
- Use as directed
- Nasal spray: Tilt head forward slightly and spray
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; if almost time for the next dose, skip it; do not double the dose.

Precautions & warnings
- Inform doctor if symptoms do not improve within 3 weeks
- Avoid deep breathing (may cause medication to go to throat)
