Pharmacology
Sodium Hyaluronate forms a moisturizing and lubricating film on the eye surface that enhances tear film stability, reduces friction, and protects the cornea. It is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, naturally present in the vitreous humor, and maintains tissue hydration.
Mechanism of action
Moistens the eye surface and provides relief from dryness.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Eye Drops):
- 1-2 drops in affected eye(s) as needed
- Use as directed by a physician
Administration
- For ophthalmic use only
- Do not touch dropper tip to eye or any other surface
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes before using any other eye medication
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; if almost time for the next dose, skip it; do not double the dose.
