কনজেক্টিভাইটিস, ব্লেফারাইটিস, চোখের সংক্রমণ প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের চক্ষু সংক্রমণ: আক্রান্ত চোখে চোখের ড্রপ প্রয়োগ করুন। tid পর্যন্ত ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে. অতি সংবেদনশীলতা; শিশু <2 মাস। সালফেসেটামাইডের গ্রাম-পজিটিভ এবং গ্রাম-নেতিবাচক জীবের বিস্তৃত পরিসরে ব্যাকটিরিওস্ট্যাটিক প্রভাব রয়েছে। এটি নিউক্লিক অ্যাসিড সংশ্লেষণে হস্তক্ষেপ করে এইভাবে কোএনজাইম ডাইহাইড্রোফলিক অ্যাসিডে PABA রূপান্তরকে বাধা দেয়। বৃদ্ধ। অ্যালার্জি বা হাঁপানির ইতিহাস; G6PD অভাব; কিডনি এবং হেপাটিক বৈকল্য। দীর্ঘায়িত থেরাপির জন্য মাইক্রোস্কোপিক পরীক্ষার সাথে সিবিসি এবং ইউরিনালাইসিস প্রয়োজন। পর্যাপ্ত তরল গ্রহণ বজায় রাখুন। গর্ভাবস্থা, স্তন্যদান। জ্বলন, স্টিংিং, কনজেক্টিভাইটিস, কর্নিয়ার আলসার, জ্বালা, কনজেক্টিভাল হাইপারেমিয়া। স্ফীত কনজেক্টিভা থেকে পদ্ধতিগত শোষণ। সম্ভাব্য মারাত্মক: স্টিভেনস-জনসন সিন্ড্রোম। PABA এবং স্থানীয় অ্যানাস্থেটিক্সের প্রোকেইন গ্রুপ দ্বারা বিরোধী কর্ম। পিউলিয়েন্ট আই এক্সিউডেটে উপস্থিত PABA সালফাসেটামাইডের ক্রিয়াকে প্রতিযোগিতামূলকভাবে বাধা দিতে পারে।

Conjunctivitis, Blepharitis, Ocular infections
Mechanism of action
Sulfacetamide has bacteriostatic effect on a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. It interferes with nucleic acid synthesis thus blocking conversion of PABA to the coenzyme dihydrofolic acid.
Dosage
Adult Dose: Ophthalmic Ocular infections Adult: Apply eye drops into the affected eye/s. May be used up to tid.
Side effects
Burning, stinging, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, irritation, conjunctival hyperaemia. Systemic absorption from inflamed conjunctiva. Potentially Fatal: Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
Precautions & warnings
Elderly. History of allergy or asthma; G6PD deficiency; renal and hepatic impairment. Prolonged therapy requires CBC and urinalysis with microscopic examination. Maintain adequate fluid intake. Pregnancy, lactation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity; infants <2 mth.
Drug interactions
Action antagonised by PABA and procaine group of local anaesthetics. PABA present in purulent eye exudates can competitively inhibit the action of sulphacetamide.
