Description
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin): Required for the maintenance of normal erthropoiesis, nucleprotein and myelin synthesis, cell reproduction and normal growth. Iron: Essential component in the formation of hemoglobin. Folic acid: Required for nucleoprotein synthesis and the maintenance of normal erythropoiesis.

Pharmacology
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin): Required for the maintenance of normal erthropoiesis, nucleprotein and myelin synthesis, cell reproduction and normal growth. Iron: Essential component in the formation of hemoglobin; adequate amounts of iron are necessary for effective erythropoiesis.
Mechanism of action
Iron, vitamin B12, and folic acid support red blood cell production and normal growth.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral):
- 1-2 capsules daily; as recommended by the physician
Child Dose (Oral):
- 1 capsule daily; as recommended by the physician
Infant Dose (Oral):
- As recommended by the physician
Administration
- Take as directed by a physician
- Swallow tablets/capsules whole
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; if almost time for next dose, skip it; do not double the dose.
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Generally well tolerated
- In individual cases, a few side-effects occur to oral Iron preparation, such as nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhoea
Precautions & warnings
- Caution should be applied where there is a risk of Iron overload, e.g. Haemochromatosis, Thalassaemia, Haemosiderosis or Haemolytic anaemia
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients
Drug interactions
- Iron may decrease the absorption of antacids, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics, levodopa, levothyroxine, methyldopa and pencillamine
- Folic acid interacts with antiepileptic drugs, plasma concentrations of Phenobarbital, phenytoin possibly reduced
Food interactions

Overdose effects
Symptoms: Initially epigastric pain, diarrhea and vomiting; metabolic acidosis, convulsions and coma can occur after recovery.
Treatment: Emetic, gastric lavage and general supportive measures.
