National Heart Foundation Hospital, Sylhet

National Heart Foundation Hospital, Sylhet (NHFHS) is a 100-bed super-specialty cardiac hospital at Tilagor Road, East Shahi Eidgah, Sylhet. It is the only specialised heart centre in the greater Sylhet region with all cardiac diagnostic facilities under one roof, and is being expanded into a 200-bed hospital in phases.

The hospital runs a fully functional Emergency, CCU, PCCU, Cathlab, Hybrid Cardiac OT, diagnostic laboratory, ward and cabin services, covering both outpatient and inpatient cardiac care. Services span cardiology, cardiac surgery, interventional procedures such as angiogram and angioplasty, echocardiography, ETT, Holter monitoring and cardiac rehabilitation.

NHFHS was founded in 1982 by a group of physicians and philanthropists of the Sylhet region led by Prof. Dr. M A Raquib. It operates as a non-profit yet self-sustaining organisation on a cross-subsidy model, so that patients of all income levels receive the same standard of care. The hospital has formed alliances with cardiac centres abroad to provide continuing medical education for its doctors, nurses and technicians.
