Dosage

Adult Dose (IV):

As required; depends on patient's age, weight, and clinical condition
Recommended flow rate: up to 100 drops/minute/70 kg body weight

Febrile response
Infection at injection site
Venous thrombosis or phlebitis
Extravasation
Hypervolemia
Severe burning, pain, or swelling around IV needle
Warmth, redness, oozing, or bleeding at IV site
Fever, ongoing cough

Precautions & warnings

Caution in pregnancy, renal impairment, heart failure, pulmonary congestion
Caution in patients receiving potassium-sparing diuretics
Do not administer rapidly or for prolonged periods
