Arformoterol is used to treat wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing and chest tightness caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), a lung disorder in which flow of air to the lung is blocked. It is also used in the treatment of chronic bronchitis and emphysema. This medicine is for inhalation purpose only. Thus, it should not be taken by mouth. It is important to follow all the guidelines of doctor before using it. However, before using it, inform doctor if you are suffering from any heart disease. You should never use this medicine to relieve symptoms of asthma as it may be life threatening. It may cause side effects like tremor, headache and insomnia (difficulty in sleeping). Arformoterol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens airways. This makes breathing easier.

Adult Dose: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease 15 mcg (1 ampoule) inhaled via nebulization twice daily. Renal Dose: Renal Impairment Dose adjustment not necessary

Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Twist off the top of the respule/transpule and squeeze all the liquid into the nebulizer. It should be used right away after opening.

If you miss a dose of Arformoterol, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing. Do not stop taking Arformoterol suddenly even if you do not currently have any symptoms as that may cause your breathing problems to come back.
