Ciprofloxacin 0.3% + Dexamethasone 0.1% E/E prep is a combination medicine used to treat bacterial infections and inflammation of the eye or ear.

Indications
  • Bacterial conjunctivitis
  • Corneal ulcers
  • Acute otitis externa
  • Acute otitis media in pediatric patients with tympanostomy tubes
  • Bacterial infections and inflammation of the eye and ear
Dosage

Eye Dose (Adults & Children): 1 drop into conjunctival sac(s) every 4-6 hours. During initial 24-48 hours, may increase to 1 drop every 2 hours.

Ear Dose (Adults - Acute Otitis Externa): 4 drops into affected ear twice daily for 7 days.

Ear Dose (Pediatric - Acute Otitis Media with tympanostomy tube): 4 drops into affected ear twice daily for 7 days. <6 months: Not recommended.

Side effects

Common Side Effects:

  • Application site irritation
  • Stinging in the eye
  • Blurred vision
  • Dizziness (vertigo)
  • Muscle weakness

Rare Side Effects: Allergic reactions, elevated intraocular pressure, glaucoma, cataract formation, superinfection.

Precautions & warnings
  • [UNSAFE] Ciprofloxacin 0.3% + Dexamethasone 0.1% E/E prep may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Dizziness, changes in eyesight or muscle weakness may occur.
  • Do not touch the tip to any surface to avoid contamination.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication to avoid dilution.
  • Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
  • Inform your doctor if your condition hasn't improved after seven days of treatment.
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
  • Contraindicated in herpes simplex, viral conditions, mycosis, glaucoma, and newborn babies.
