Dosage
Adults: Slow IV or deep IM injection as required, or as directed by a physician.
Note: This injection should be administered by a healthcare professional only. Patient should not self-administer. Administer slowly (avoid rapid administration).
Side effects
Common side effects: Mild gastrointestinal disturbances, bradycardia, arrhythmia, irritation after IV injection.
Precautions & warnings
- Renal impairment, sarcoidosis, and concurrent administration of thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcemia; caution required.
- Caution during pregnancy (Category C).
