Benzoyl Peroxide is an antibacterial medicine used to treat acne. Acne appears as spots or pimples on your face, chest or back. This medicine works by attacking the bacteria that cause them. Benzoyl Peroxide may be used alone or with other acne treatments.
Indications
- Mild to moderate acne vulgaris
Dosage
Adults: Apply a thin layer to affected areas 1-2 times daily.
Children (under 12 years): Safety and efficacy have not been established.
Start with once daily during the first week, then increase to twice daily as tolerated.

- Allergic contact dermatitis

Precautions & warnings
- Avoid excessive sun exposure (skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight)
- Avoid contact with hair and fabrics (may bleach)
- Do not apply to broken or damaged skin
- Avoid contact with eyes, lips, and mucous membranes
- If severe irritation or allergy occurs, discontinue use and consult your doctor
- Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors
- Excessive application does not produce faster or better results but may increase irritation
