Domperidone + Esomeprazole is a combination medicine used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, indigestion, nausea and vomiting. Domperidone helps the stomach empty faster and Esomeprazole reduces stomach acid production.
Indications
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion (dyspepsia), flatulence, feeling of fullness after eating, nausea and vomiting.
Dosage
Adults: Usually twice daily (morning and evening) or as prescribed by the physician. Available as capsules or tablets containing Domperidone 10-30mg and Esomeprazole 20-40mg. Should be taken 30 minutes before meals on an empty stomach.
Side effects
Common side effects: Headache, diarrhea, nausea, flatulence, abdominal pain, constipation, dry mouth. Rare side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, allergic reactions.
Precautions & warnings
Caution during pregnancy. Not recommended during breastfeeding. Caution in elderly patients and those with cardiac problems or electrolyte abnormalities. Caution while driving as it may cause dizziness. Long-term use may increase fracture risk. Avoid alcohol.
