Aceclofenac is a pain relieving medicine. It alleviates pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and osteoarthritis. Aceclofenac should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It should be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Taking the medicine regularly at the right times increases its effectiveness. It is important to keep taking the medicine regularly until your doctor tells you it is safe to stop. Vomiting, stomach pain, nausea, and indigestion are some of the common side effects that might be observed on taking this medicine. It may also cause dizziness, drowsiness, or visual disturbances. Your doctor may regularly monitor your kidney function, liver function, and levels of blood components if you are taking this medicine for long-term treatment. Long-term use may lead to serious complications such as stomach bleeding and kidney problems. Aceclofenac is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

After oral intake, aceclofenac is rapidly absorbed, reaching peak plasma concentration in about 1.25 to 3 hours. It is highly protein-bound (over 99%). It is metabolized in the liver, mainly to 4'-hydroxyaceclofenac, with a smaller fraction converted to diclofenac, primarily via the CYP2C9 enzyme pathway. Its elimination half-life is approximately 4 hours, and it is excreted mainly through urine.

Should be taken with food. Take w/ or immediately after meals.

Adult Dose: Cautiously administer to patients with GI disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, haematological abnormalities, hepatic porphyria; history of bronchial asthma; history of heart failure or hypertension; mild renal, hepatic or cardiac impairment. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Elderly. Patients suffering from severe hepatic impairment must be monitored. Renal Dose: Aceclofenac, a phenylacetic acid derivative, has antiinflammatory and analgesic properties. It is a potent inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase which is involved in the production of prostaglandins.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aceclofenac is to be taken with food.

Take the missed dose as soon as remembered. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue the regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

You have been prescribed Aceclofenac to relieve pain and inflammation. Take it with food or milk to prevent upset stomach. Take it as per the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Long term use may lead to serious complications such as stomach bleeding and kidney problems. It may cause dizziness, drowsiness or visual disturbances. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Aceclofenac as it can cause excessive drowsiness and increase your risk of stomach problems. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease or stroke. Your doctor may regularly monitor your kidney function, liver function and levels of blood components, if you are taking this medicine for long-term treatment.

Hypersensitivity to aspirin or NSAIDs; moderate to severe renal impairment; pregnancy (3rd trimester); history of peptic ulceration or GI bleed; patients with infections.

[UNSAFE] It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Aceclofenac.

No dose adjustment is generally required in elderly patients; however, since they are at higher risk of gastrointestinal, renal, and cardiovascular side effects, the lowest effective dose should be used with caution.

Overdose symptoms may include nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, and in severe cases, seizures or renal impairment. Treatment is mainly symptomatic; activated charcoal may be considered if administered within 1 hour of ingestion. Intravenous diazepam may be used for seizures. Liver and kidney function should be closely monitored. Prompt medical attention is advised in case of suspected overdose.
