Human Papillomavirus Quadrivalent is indicated for girls and women 9-26 years and boys and men 9-45 years for prevention of cancers, genital warts and precancerous lesions caused by HPV types 6, 11, 16 and 18.
Indications
Girls and Women (9-26 years):
- Cervical, vulvar, vaginal and anal cancer (HPV 16 & 18)
- Genital warts (HPV 6 & 11)
- CIN, VIN, VaIN & AIN (HPV 6, 11, 16 & 18)
Boys and Men (9-45 years):
- Anal, oropharyngeal and head and neck cancers (HPV 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 & 58)
- Genital warts (HPV 6 & 11)
- AIN (HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 & 58)
Dosage
9 through 14 years:
- 2-dose: 0, 6-12 months (3rd dose needed if 2nd dose given before 5 months)
- 3-dose: 0, 2, 6 months
15 through 45 years:
- 3-dose: 0, 2, 6 months
Side effects
Most Common (≥10%) Local and Systemic Reactions:
- Injection-site pain (82.8-89.9%)
- Injection-site swelling (16.9-47.8%)
- Injection-site erythema (16.9-34.1%)
- Headache (11.4-14.6%)
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Observe for 15 minutes after administration to prevent syncope
- Syncope with tonic-clonic movements has been reported
- Immunosuppressive therapy may reduce immune response
- Caution in severe allergic reactions to yeast or previous dose
