Indications
  • Prevention of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, and HIB
Dosage

Child (Primary Immunization): 3 or 2 doses of 0.5 mL deep IM injection with at least 1-month interval between doses.
Booster vaccination: Given at least 6 months after last priming dose between 11 & 13 months (after 2 doses) or before 18 months (after 3 doses).

Side effects

Common: Loss of appetite, irritability, abnormal crying, restlessness, nervousness, vomiting, diarrhea, pruritus, fever, fatigue, injection site reactions (pain, redness, local swelling, induration).

Precautions & warnings

Hypersensitivity to neomycin & polymyxin; do not administer intravascularly or intradermally; postpone in acute severe febrile illness; temp >40°C, collapse or shock-like state, persistent crying >3 hr; convulsions within 3 days of vaccination; progressive neurological disorders; anaphylactic event & syncope may occur; thrombocytopenia or bleeding disorder; history of febrile convulsions; risk of apnea (very premature infants).
