Menthol 10% + Methyl Salicylate 30% Topical is a topical cream used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, post-herpetic neuralgia, muscle pain, sprains, back pain, and spondylitis. The 30% concentration provides enhanced analgesic effect.
Indications
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Post-herpetic neuralgia
- Muscle aches and sprains
- Back pain and spondylitis
- Peripheral neuralgias (diabetic neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia)
- Tendonitis, leg cramps
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Apply a thin layer to affected area and massage gently until cream disappears
- Do not apply more than 3-4 times daily
Children (12 years+): Adult dose; <12 years: safety not established
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Stinging/burning/tingling sensation
- Redness or irritation (especially on sensitive skin)
- Mild-moderate local irritation, erythema, rash, desquamation, pruritus
Precautions & warnings
- Do not apply to wounds or damaged skin
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
- Do not bandage tightly, wrap, or cover
- Do not use immediately after bath
- Discontinue if redness or excessive irritation develops
