Indications
- Nutritional deficiency in pregnancy & lactation
- Iron, Folic acid, Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C deficiency
Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral):
- One capsule daily
- In more severe deficiency states: 2 capsules a day may be required
Child Dose: No specific data; use as directed by physician
Side effects
Side Effects:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Allergic sensitization (rare)
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Caution in patients who may develop iron overload (hemochromatosis, haemolytic anemia or red cell aplasia)
- Iron chelates with tetracycline and absorption may be impaired
- Folic acid may mask symptoms of pernicious anemia
- Caution in patients taking Levodopa (Pyridoxine reduces effect of Levodopa)
- Daily vitamin requirements must be calculated to avoid over dosage and toxic effects
