Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years:
- 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) three times a day
Children 6-12 years:
- 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) three times a day
Children 2-5 years:
- 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoonful) three times a day
Under 2 years:
- Physician's advice preferred
* Use as directed by the registered physician
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- CNS depression or excitation
- Sleep disturbance
- Hallucination (rare)
- Skin rashes
- Tachycardia
- Dryness of mouth, nose and throat
- Urinary retention (in men)
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- May cause drowsiness - do not drive or operate machinery
- Avoid alcohol or other centrally acting sedatives
- Caution in hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, elevated intraocular pressure and prostatic enlargement
- Do not use for persistent or chronic cough such as smoking, asthma or emphysema
