Indications
- Hypertension (adults and pediatric patients ≥6 years)
Dosage
Adult and Elderly:
- Starting: 2.5 mg once daily (max 5 mg/day)
- Elderly or hepatic insufficiency: Start at 1.25 mg/day
- Dose adjustment: 7-14 day intervals based on blood pressure goals
Pediatric (6-17 years):
- 1.25-2.5 mg once daily (doses >2.5 mg/day not studied)
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Dyspnea
- Dizziness
- Reflex tachycardia
- Hypotension
- Abdominal pain

Precautions & warnings
- Hypotension possible in severe aortic stenosis
- Risk of angina or MI in severe coronary artery disease
- Titrate slowly in severe hepatic impairment
