Description
Sodium Cromoglycate 4% Eye/Nasal prep is used to treat symptoms of allergy. It helps to provide relief from runny nose, sneezing, stuffy nose and watery eyes. Sodium Cromoglycate 4% Eye/Nasal prep is only for external use only, so do not swallow the medicine. The first dose is given under medical supervision to prevent the side effects happen during first use. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. It may take a few days for the spray to take full effect. If you do not see an improvement in your symptoms after a week you should talk to your doctor. The most common side effects of this medicine include stinging sensation, nasal irritation, burning sensation, and sneezing. Talk to your doctor if you are worried about side effects or they would not go away. Avoid the direct contact of medicine with eye, it happens accidentally, rinse with water immediately. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have allergic to sodium cromoglycate, or you have stress, trauma, and any other infection. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You must inform your doctor if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding. Sodium Cromoglycate 4% Eye/Nasal prep is a mast cell stabilizer. It works on certain cells in the body (mast cells) to prevent them from releasing substances that cause allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose and stuffy nose.

Mechanism of action
Sodium Cromoglycate inhibits degranulation of mast cells and therefore suppresses the release of histamine, leukotrienes and slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis.
Dosage
Adult Dose: Ophthalmic Allergic conjunctivitis Adult: Instill 2 drops of a 4% soln 4-6 times daily. Nasal Allergic Rhinitis 1 drop to each nostril 2 to 3 times daily.
Administration
Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril. Direct the spray towards the sides of your nostril, away from the cartilage dividing the two sides of your nose. As you spray, breath gently and keep the head upright. Repeat the same process for the other nostrils.

Precautions & warnings

Contraindications
This drop is contraindicated in patient with hypersensitivity to Sodium Cromoglicate .
