ইরিটেবল বাওয়েল সিনড্রোম, জিআই ট্র্যাক্ট স্প্যাজম ওরাল ইরিটেবল বাওয়েল সিন্ড্রোম; গ্যাস্ট্রোইনটেস্টাইনাল ট্র্যাক্টের খিঁচুনি প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক: পেপারমিন্ট তেল: 0.2 মিলি টিড, প্রয়োজনে 0.4 মিলি টিড পর্যন্ত বৃদ্ধি করা হয়, 3 মাস পর্যন্ত। গর্ভাবস্থা; cholecystitis; হেপাটিক ক্ষতি; শিশু পেপারমিন্ট তেলের প্রধান উপাদান হল মেন্থল (29%-48%), মেন্থোন (20%-31%) এবং মিথাইল অ্যাসিটেট (3%-10%)। এটি জিআই ট্র্যাক্টের মসৃণ পেশীগুলিকে শিথিল করে পেট ফাঁপা এবং কোলিক উপশম করে। হাইটাল হার্নিয়া, গর্ভাবস্থা, স্তন্যদান। জ্বালা; erythematous ত্বকের ফুসকুড়ি; মাথাব্যথা; ব্র্যাডিকার্ডিয়া; পেশী কম্পন এবং অ্যাটাক্সিয়া; অম্বল; হাঁপানি এবং শ্বাসকষ্টের সাথে হাঁপানির তীব্রতা; যোগাযোগের ডার্মাটাইটিস, ছত্রাক। অ্যালকোহল গ্রহণ করলে প্রতিকূল প্রভাবের তীব্রতা; পেপারমিন্ট তেল ধারণকারী এন্টারিক-কোটেড প্রস্তুতি অ্যান্টাসিডের সাথে অবিলম্বে গ্রহণ করা উচিত নয়।
Indications
Irritable bowel syndrome, GI tract spasm
Mechanism of action
The main constituents of peppermint oil are menthol (29%-48%), menthone (20%-31%) and methyl acetate (3%-10%). It relieves flatulence and colic by relaxation of GI tract smooth muscles.
Dosage
Adult Dose: Oral Irritable bowel syndrome; Gastrointestinal tract spasm Adult: Peppermint oil: 0.2 ml tid, increased to 0.4 ml tid if necessary, for up to 3 mth.
Side effects
Irritation; erythematous skin rash; headache; bradycardia; muscle tremors and ataxia; heartburn; exacerbation of asthma with wheezing and dypnoea; contact dermatitis, urticaria.
Precautions & warnings
Hiatal hernia, Pregnancy, lactation.
Contraindications
Pregnancy; cholecystitis; hepatic damage; children.
Drug interactions
Exacerbation of adverse effects if taken with alcohol; enteric-coated preparations containing peppermint oil should not be taken immediately with antacids.
