Bacitracin Zinc + Neomycin Sulphate Eye prep is a combination antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Indications
- Bacterial eye infections (blepharitis, conjunctivitis)
- Atopic, contact stasis and infected eczematoid dermatitis
- Neurodermatitis and eczema
- Adjunct treatment in pyodermas such as impetigo
Dosage
Adults and Children: Apply a thin film to the affected area 2-4 times daily.
Side effects
- Allergic reactions (rare)
- Prolonged use may cause overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi
Systemic: Excessive use may lead to systemic absorption causing neurotoxicity (bacitracin).
