Indications
- Conjunctivitis
- Keratitis
- Keratoconjunctivitis
- Blepharitis
- Blepharoconjunctivitis
- Superficial bacterial infections
- Corneal ulcer
Dosage
Adult & Child Dose:
- 1-2 drops into the affected eye every 4 hours
- For 7 to 10 days
- In severe infections, may be increased to 2 drops every hour
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Allergic reactions - itching, swelling, conjunctival erythema
- Local irritation
- Anaphylaxis (rare)
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms including fungi
- Bacterial resistance may develop
- If purulent discharge, inflammation or pain becomes aggravated, discontinue and consult doctor
- Allergic cross-reactions may occur (kanamycin, paromomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin)
